AFR Members Participate in AFR State Bylaws Process

OKLAHOMA CITY-The American Farmers & Ranchers (AFR) 2012 Bylaws Committee convened in Oklahoma City Dec. 5 to discuss proposed changes to the organization's bylaws.

Topics deemed appropriate for vote will be brought before delegates at the 2013 AFR State Convention. The upcoming convention will be held in Norman Feb. 22-23.

The appointed bylaws committee members are joined each year by the AFR Board of Directors and key AFR state officers. These board members and officers play an integral role in bylaws origination and approval, working directly with the committee throughout the process. Members of the board are Eric Bilderback, El Reno; Joe Ed Kinder, Frederick; Jim Shelton, Vinita; Bobby Holley, Antlers; Roy Perryman, Stigler; Justin Cowan, Locust Grove; and Melody Cummings, Elk City. State officers are AFR President Terry Detrick, Ames; AFR Vice President John Porter, Stillwater; and AFR Secretary/Treasurer Bobby Green, Okemah.

Each year, AFR selects bylaws committee members from across Oklahoma. The appointed individuals are an accomplished and diverse group representing the broadest spectrum possible of the general AFR membership. This year's bylaws committee members include Matt Gard, Fairview; Stan Scherler, Walters; Dale Turner, Holdenville; Brett Morris, Ninnekah; Pete Adams, Stratford; Wade Parker, Locust Grove; Kermit Raab, Arapaho; and Robert Acre, Canton.
