AFR Claims Adjusters Respond Rapidly to Ice Storm Victims

In the weeks following the late November ice storm, Bobby Scott rarely took a break from meeting the needs of AFR insureds who suffered storm damage.  Scott is an AFR claims adjuster for central Oklahoma.

When a storm hits, we put everything else on hold. We try to contact everyone within 48 hours.

Bobby Scott, AFR Claims Adjuster

Scott said they prioritize claims according to the amount of damage.

“The more severe damage, where there is a tree limb poking through the roof or something similar, receives top priority,” Scott said.

During the first few days following the storm, Scott struggled to maneuver around fallen trees and power lines.

“Some of the roads were blocked and I had to detour several miles or wait until the roads were cleared before I could service the claim,” Scott said.

At press time Scott had worked about 45 claims.  Statewide, the total claims from the ice storm are about three times that number.

This storm was a great opportunity to demonstrate the dedication and hard work of AFR claims adjusters.

That dedication was evident in Leslie Morriss’s firm handshake as he thanked Scott for inspecting the damage to his Yukon property.

“I was pleased with his rapid response and prompt settlement of my claim,” Morriss said.
