Rural to Urban Outreach Reception to Feature Tulsa Mayor Bynum

New Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum will share remarks on the key role Tulsa plays in the state’s economy, especially in regards to the rural and agricultural sectors

American Farmers & Ranchers LEAD program is sponsoring the Rural to Urban Outreach reception, Dec. 9, as part of the Tulsa Farm Show.  The reception starts at 4:30 p.m. in the lower level of the River Spirit Expo Building in Tulsa.

G.T. Bynum, the new mayor of Tulsa, will share remarks on the key role Tulsa plays in the state’s economy, especially in regards to the rural and agricultural sectors.

We want to work together with Tulsa residents and surrounding communities to foster a better understanding of how important rural and urban relationships are to this state. By working together we learn each other’s needs and how to constructively meet the challenge of moving our great state forward.

Terry Detrick, AFR President / Ames, OK Farmer

The Tulsa Farm Show annually attracts a wide diversity of rural and urban visitors from Oklahoma and surrounding states.  This year the show runs Dec. 8-10. AFR has a long history of involvement with the farm show, as a sponsor of the cattle handling contest for rural youth (morning of Dec. 9) and an exhibit where visitors can learn more about Oklahoma agriculture.

The AFR LEAD program is a diverse, flexible and innovative program to assist in the needs of growing Oklahoma communities through informed leaders.
