AFR Women Leaders Retreat Nov. 5 in Shawnee

The American Farmers & Ranchers Women’s Cooperative Retreat for southeastern Oklahoma is scheduled for Nov. 5 in the Shawnee, Okla., area.

The day-long event begins at 10 a.m. at the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art.  Other stops on the schedule include the Shawnee Milling Company, Harvest Creek Farmers Market and Café, and the Grand Casino Hotel and Resort.

“This event is a great networking opportunity to meet like-minded rural women from across the state,” said Suzanne Gilbert, Tecumseh, chairperson of the AFR Cooperative Women’s committee.

Interested participants do not have to be AFR members to attend. Anyone from across the state can attend the retreat not just the southeast district. Join the Women’s Cooperative for a day of exploring Oklahoma’s heritage and agritourism businesses by reserving your spot by Nov.1.  For more information contact Megan Albright, malbright@afrmic.com, (405) 218-5416.
