AFR Statement on Pruitt

AFR President Terry Detrick issued the following statement on Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt’s nomination to head up the Environmental Protection Agency:

“I’m optimistic we will have an EPA administrator that will make decisions based on science with an understanding of agriculture’s critical role in protecting the environment.  I believe AG Pruitt will use his ‘Oklahoma common sense’ to protect the environment while working with agriculture and other industries."

“Pruitt has long been a friend of farmers and ranchers, defending our modern agricultural practices and striving to remove regulatory obstacles."

“We are sad to see him leave Oklahoma but pleased to see his abilities recognized and used at a level that will benefit all Americans."
