Senator Paul Scott receives legislative advocacy award from AFR

State Sen. Paul Scott (R-43), recently received the AFR Legislative Advocacy Award from American Farmers & Ranchers.

“It’s a great honor to be recognized by AFR,” Scott said.  “It’s just great to be a part of what AFR is doing for Oklahoma agriculture and rural areas.”

The Duncan, Okla., farmer and businessman said improving rural health care and infrastructure and agriculture are critical issues facing his constituents today.

Scott grew up on a ranch in Cyril where his family raised cattle and horses. His mother, Jo Scott, owns the AFR Insurance agency in Cyril.

“Sen. Scott is highly deserving of this award,” Terry Detrick, AFR president said.  “He is a strong advocate for AFR policy, agriculture and rural Oklahoma at the state capitol and we want him to know he has our full support.”

District 43 includes parts of Garvin, Grady, McClain and Stephen Counties.
