Schools across Stephens County will receive an $8,039 financial boost thanks to a generous donation from the Stephens County chapter of American Farmers & Ranchers. The donation will be distributed equitably at $1 for every student, based on the average daily student enrollment from 2015-16.
Participants in this year’s American Farmers & Ranchers LEAD conference will receive an “inside the ropes” view of the horse racing industry. The statewide conference kicks off with a tour of the Remington Park stables followed by a presentation on the horse industry by the OQHRA.

The small community of Medicine Park, at the edge of the Wichita Mountains in southwest Oklahoma, came alive with the roar of Harley Davidson, Honda and Kawasaki motorcycles, June 11, as the AFR Southwest District LEAD committee sponsored a Poker Run and Red Dirt concert. The event was in support of State Question 777, Oklahoma’s Right to Farm.
Jett owns KC Farms, a family farm and ranch southwest of Slapout. KC Farms is a diversified farm and ranch with irrigated and dryland wheat, forage crops and grass. They also have a commercial cow herd. His long term dedication to conservation was recognized this year by the Oklahoma Association of Conservation Districts as he was inducted into the OACD Hall of Fame.
The family-friendly event starts at 1:00 PM, June 11th, at Medicine Park. An outdoor concert in Medicine Park runs throughout the day's activities.
