The AFR Women’s Cooperative has started an on-line registry at Amazon to collect items for the family of Caitlin Phibbs and Jacob Vandorn, who lost everything in the northwest Oklahoma wildfires this spring.
As many of you know the 2017 Initiative for the Women’s Cooperative (WC) is the “Wanted” Blood Drives in partnership with the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI). The WC state council has challenged local and county AFR members to get a donor from every county to a blood drive throughout 2017.

Enough blood was donated by Oklahoma FFA members and supporters during their state convention May 2-3, to save 201 lives. The blood drive was a joint effort between the AFR Women’s Cooperative and the Oklahoma Blood Institute.
The AFR Women's Cooperative is sponsoring a blood drive at the Oklahoma FFA State Convention on Tuesday May 2nd and Wednesday May 3rd. Each donor will receive a vintaged 40th anniversary t-shirt and a Sonic gift card.
A number of awards were handed out to rural women leaders and supporters during the recent American Farmers & Ranchers annual state convention. The Women’s Cooperative also handed out awards to the top participants in their annual Drive Away Hunger food drive campaign.
Throughout 2016, AFR members, youth, agents and local volunteers gathered donations during county and statewide events. Members were asked to bring nonperishable canned goods to county annual meetings, county fairs, and other local events. Youth at the annual leadership summit played a major role in meeting the Women’s Cooperative goal.

The “Drive Away Hunger with AFR” campaign is asking members to bring canned goods as well as financial contributions to their local and county meetings.
The American Farmers & Ranchers Women’s Cooperative Retreat for southeastern Oklahoma is scheduled for November 5th in the Shawnee, Oklahoma area.
Anyone from across the state can attend the retreat not just the southeast district.
