Oklahoma Youth Learn to Lead at AFR Leadership Summit
More than 200 young people from around the state participated in the annual American Farmers & Ranchers Leadership Summit, July 24-29.
Participants learned such skills as setting and achieving short- and long-term goals and working in teams. They also learned the value of personal responsibility, respect for their peers and many other positive attributes.

Poker Run Raises Funds for SQ 777
The small community of Medicine Park, at the edge of the Wichita Mountains in southwest Oklahoma, came alive with the roar of Harley Davidson, Honda and Kawasaki motorcycles, June 11, as the AFR Southwest District LEAD committee sponsored a Poker Run and Red Dirt concert. The event was in support of State Question 777, Oklahoma’s Right to Farm.
Toby Keith Foundation Provides Comfort for Healing Familes
The Toby Keith Foundation has been helping children with cancer since 2006 and continues its services through partnerships with hospitals, caregivers, foundations and civic groups.
AFR Asks Support for GMO Labeling Law
In a letter today to the Oklahoma congressional delegation, AFR President Terry Detrick encouraged them to support the U.S. Senate’s GMO labeling legislation. The Senate is expected to vote on the issue after July 4th holiday.
